My kantele projects
Welcome to my YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@goldenkantele focusing on relaxing music played with Finnish kanteles. I have used both 5-11 stringed small kanteles as well as a 39 stringed concert kantele for my recordings.
Virtual choirs
Homechoir & KANTELE (and other instruments)
Homechoir was my lifesaver during the pandemic. I spent several afternoons each week singing with my choral friends from around the world under our amazing conductor, Ben England. We have made several digital recordings, and for some of them I contributed a kantele track. I also put my digital music skills to the test by recording Vogler’s Hosanna, with Ben kindly assisting me by singing the tenor and bass lines.
Gabriel Fauré: Sanctus
J.S. Bach: Denn das Gesetz
Eric Wetherell: My Lagan Love
Faure: Cantique de Jean Racine
Vogler: Hosanna
Trad: I’se the (Birthday) Boy
The Choir of the Earth
I have been a member of the Choir of the Earth since their very first project, Händel’s Messiah. Over the years, I have submitted hundreds of tracks for their productions. It has been wonderful to learn and record multiple parts for different works. For their second Messiah production, I recorded both the alto and tenor parts for all movements, and for Spem in Alium, I recorded alto and tenor parts for all eight choirs.
Other virtual productions
I have also taken part in several other virtual projects, ranging from intimate collaborations with just two participants to massive productions such as Eric Whitacre’s Virtual Choir 6, which brought together over 17,000 singers from around the world. Each project, no matter its size, has offered a unique sense of connection and shared purpose.
